# Dashboard

> Understanding your security posture dashboard

The Dashboard is the home screen of Ayliea. It gives you an at-a-glance view of your current security posture based on your most recently completed assessment.

## Score Gauge

The score gauge is a circular arc in the center of the dashboard. It displays three pieces of information:

* **Numeric score** — your overall weighted score from 0 to 100
* **Letter grade** — A through F derived from your numeric score
* **Grade label** — a plain-language descriptor (Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, or Critical)

The arc color changes with your score — green for high scores, red for critical scores — so you can read your posture at a glance without focusing on the number.

The gauge animates from zero each time it loads, counting up to your current score.

<Note>
  The score displayed reflects your **most recently completed** assessment for the active framework. If you have completed assessments across multiple frameworks, use the framework selector in the Assess tab to switch context.
</Note>

## Category Breakdown

Below the score gauge, the Category Breakdown shows per-category scores as labeled horizontal progress bars. Key behaviors:

* **Weakest-first sort** — categories are ordered by score ascending, so the areas needing the most attention appear at the top
* **Color coding** — each bar uses the same color scale as the gauge (red for critical, green for strong)
* **Collapsed by default** — if the framework has more than 6 categories, only the 6 weakest are shown initially. Tap **Show all** to expand the full list
* **Desktop layout** — on wider screens, the breakdown renders in two columns to reduce vertical scrolling

Each bar shows the category name on the left and the numeric percentage on the right. Tapping a category row navigates to that category's question list so you can review or update your answers.

## Framework Badge

When a completed assessment is shown, a framework badge appears indicating which standard the score belongs to — for example, **CIS Controls v8.1** or **NIST CSF 2.0**. This badge helps you identify which assessment you are viewing if you have completed assessments across multiple frameworks.

## Score Trends

Score history over time (a chart comparing successive assessment runs) is a planned feature and is not yet available. Once you complete multiple assessments for the same framework, trend data will appear here automatically.

## Empty State

If you have not yet completed any assessment, the dashboard shows an empty state with a prompt to start your first assessment. The score gauge and category breakdown are not shown until at least one assessment is complete.

<Tip>
  Complete the [AI Security](/frameworks/ai-security) framework first — it is available on the Free tier and takes roughly 20–30 minutes. Your dashboard will populate as soon as you finish all categories.
